About Acquisition of ISCC PLUS Certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification)

Sakai Trading Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka City; President: Mutsutomo Yamanoi) has obtained the “ISCC PLUS Certification,” one of the international certification systems for sustainable products, at both its Osaka Head Office and Tokyo Branch.

ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is an international certification system related to sustainability and carbon emissions. The ISCC PLUS certification is a system that manages and ensures the traceability of sustainable raw materials such as biomass and recycled materials throughout the supply chain using the Mass Balance approach※1.

With the acquisition of this certification, the Company is now able to handle and supply ISCC PLUS certified products in which sustainable raw materials are allocated based on the mass balance system.

Through obtaining this certification and expanding the handling of certified products, the Company remains committed to contributing to the realization of a sustainable global society.

※1 The mass balance approach is a management and accounting method in which, when manufacturing products using a mix of sustainable raw materials (such as biomass) and non-sustainable raw materials (such as petroleum-based materials), the sustainability attributes are allocated to products in proportion to the amount of sustainable input.
